Photos but wider. My phone has long had a so-called panorama mode where one can sweep the camera’s view across a scene and capture an ultra-wide photograph. This can create impressive, sweeping images that can give so much context to a moment and place. The problem has always been that viewing and sharing these photos is not ideal on a small screen. I added a special mode to this site to make it easier to slide the photo left and right and get a better look at the whole thing.

わかりません

or wakarimasen meaning “I don’t understand.” …something I suspect we’ll be getting some good mileage on this first few days. I took a bunch of Japanese lessons (and of course 10 months of duolingo) but this has just started to get me a toehold into a complex and beautiful language.
