Mysterious bubbles have appeared in the #downtown. These turned out to be a #publicart installation for another #edmonton #festival called Spark, and lots of fun to wander around at #lunchtime.

If only the rest of the world worked this way, but alas a Sunday run at the gym and on the track was a break from the mean streets and the smoky air outside.

It's been almost a full week of moving, shifting, cleaning, shuffling, hauling, hustling, and trying to find some rest in the middle of it all. Replacing the entirety of our upstairs carpet (even tho the actual removal and replacement of the carpet was done by a pro) meant moving almost ever piece of furniture and object sitting on that furniture into the basement or elsewhere in the house. It meant hundreds of loads down the stairs, hundreds more back up, packing, lugging, discarding, and rearranging everything. The rooms needed to be entirely empty and in many ways it almost seems like it would have been simpler to pack it up and move it to a new house at the same time. Alas, about nine days after taking the first load down the stairs, the place is about 80% restored, and what hasn't gone back up may never go back up, so there is some serious (and slow) sorting to be done now. We are over the carpet hump, tho, and it sure does look and feel nice.
