8r4d May the course be with you on this May the fourth, so my fourth #running excursion of the month was a visit to #parkrun in the #rivervalley where I slammed a 5k with about 60 others in the #spring sunshine.

8r4d My third day of #running this month took me on a nearby neighborhood tour to work on my summer gauntlet.

8r4dsfeets Back when we moved in near here this time capsule seemed like the distant future but now it’s due in just a couple more decades.

8r4dsfeets As the kid noted on the drive over here, she only really thinks of the Arden Theatre in reference to all the cbc comedy specials they record here.

8r4d Another week another spring dance competition. Sure, I could be in the theatre watching all the other kids dance, but as i’m only really hanging around to see mine. Since she needs to be at the theatre an hour early (and I’m nothing if not punctual) I had some time to explore the downtown park river walk area and do some sketching. All that said there is neither dancing nor sketching in this post.

8r4d The 5 Peaks trail #running season is just about to take flight for another year and with it came the regular pre-race orientation run. We may not be doing the race on mother’s day but we did participate in tonight’s more casual event. I’m a little out of practice for the rolling #trails tho it would seem.

8r4d I’m planning on doing some strong #running in May. For the first day of the month I joined the local #runclub at the running room, but to be fair like 8 of the 10 people there were just our usually group/gang #runcrew

squwetchy Apart from the small paint splatter accident mid way thru, my #watercolour #flower painting homework for week two turned out better than I’d expected. to be honest, I didn’t really like this picture when he showed it to us last night and the results that he got were a little flat and uninspired for my own personal tastes, which has less to do with the artistic quality and more to do with the lesson that was being forwarded in our second class. I tried to duplicate the results as best as I could, and then soften the background a little bit more than he had in his original piece, which was a fairly abrupt matte black. Watercolour flowers week 2 homework used about fifty bucks* worth of yellow paint but the results seem worth it. *tho not really

8r4d We’ve got some challenging pieces this year, including a couple where only half the #orchestra plays, so rehearsal has been a bit weird. Sometimes the brass plays by themselves while the #violin and string contingent waits, and sometimes it’s vice versa.
