castironguy Stopped for dinner at a place we keep walking by everyday between our hotel and the train station. We could see through the windows and wanted to try. I’ve never even heard of monjayaki until tonight, but we got a full lesson and a delicious meal.

Monjayaki is a popular Tokyo dish, similar to okonomiyaki but with a much runnier, gooier batter that remains loose even after cooking. It's made by cooking a loose mixture of ingredients like cabbage, seafood, and meat with a watery flour and dashi batter on a hot griddle (teppan). Diners eat it directly off the griddle using small spatulas, making it an interactive and fun meal.
