Start spreading the news! We landed in NYC this evening just in time to wander through Times Square near our hotel for a couple hours. The weather is mild but the conditions in New York are hot and hopping. #newyork

Late breakfast? Lunch? Early dinner? It's two thirty in Toronto Airport with a couple hours to kill, and after waking up at 3am, timezone jumps are the worst! #travel

If you're wondering, I'm taking a year off from corporate social media. No instagrams. No twitters. Definitely no facebooks. That doesn't mean I want to log off completely. This is a little applet I wrote on my own private space for a personal kind of social media I'm gonna try out. Stay tuned.

After snowing for two days straight the park is nearly impassable, at least for a tiny dog and her lazy owner, but the night sky is now clear and temperatures are hopefully going to improve... eventually?

The bridge was lit purple tonight and though we rarely have a reason to be downtown at night these days, we were out late and made this magical mauve crossing on a chilly Sunday evening.

When at the theatre the best strategy for waiting for your show to start is finding a comfortable chair and a good seat for people watching.

No more waterfall at the theatre but the lights make fir a pretty backdrop even if the subject is making silly faces.

Churchill Square is much quieter on a Sunday evening in the cold of a early winter weekend. There was just me and a fellow angrily shouting at the sky to enjoy the lights.

My new phone has an ultrawide lens on it which makes for a great dog's perspective on adventures... but for now we're trying it out in the living room.

I broke and bought a new phone last night, with my current showing it's age and either needing a new battery or lowered expectations fir performance, and our upcoming trip needing a reliable tool for communication and photography. It was time.

I was experimenting with weird and wonderful flours for my sourdough and I came across coffee flour. At the recommended 20% the bread was black, bitter and almost inedible. But I'm going to try again with a much lower fraction and hope for something better.

Watercolour of the Walterdale Bridge, a newly built landmark in the river valley. This is part of a new urban sketchbook collection I've kicked off focusing on some of the great techniques I've been studying over the last year.

What's the opposite of a hot dog? Apparently she likes the cold stuff enough to sit stubbornly in the snowy field longing to catch sight of her puppy pals. She didn't see anyone, of course. It's cold out there!

Random feets. Before the snow arrived there was some serious #construction happening in our neighborhood, tearing up the local sidewalks as they moved a road about 20 meters closer to fill in some spaces.
