I was just trying to cross the road. I’d pressed the button. There was a car to my left who was planning on going straight thru the intersection when the green light flipped.

The social contract is dying. You want to know where the world is at? Enough people shrug away common decency and unwritten social rules. Many even shrug off the written ones.

There was a second car facing us, set up to turn across the path of the other driver and thru my cross walk.

Get the picture? In order of legal right of way: I get to walk first, gut going straight can go too because he’s not interfering with my route. Turning guy is a solid third. He can legally turn when I’ve crossed and first car is clear.

Light turns and turning guy guns it as I step off the curb into the crosswalk. Turning guy blocks intersection, rolls down his window and flips me off as I finish crossing. First car continues, veering slightly around his partially blocked path. Turning guy is 100% in the wrong.

I had headphones on so I didn’t hear what he shouted out the window, but I heard his tires squeal as he burned out of the intersection behind me.

Fuck you too, buddy. Fuck you too.
